India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, found the newly appointed bowling coach, Morne Morkel, the toughest bowler in international cricket. Recently, India appointed legendary South African pacer Morne Morkel as their bowling coach.

Gambhir, who succeeded Rahul Dravid as the head coach, has previously worked with the Proteas great during his IPL stint with Lucknow Super Giants.

Gambhir found Morkel the toughest to face

Interestingly, Gambhir found it challenging to face Morkel during his playing days. A naturally aggressive batter, Gambhir was dominated by the South African pacer, who kept him quiet with steep bounce and prodigious seam movement.

In fact, Gambhir admitted to being troubled by Morkel when he was an integral member of the Indian team.

Speaking to the host of 'Breakfast with Champions', Gambhir named Morkel when asked about the fiercest bowler he ever faced.

He reckoned Morkel got the better of him as he used to generate awkward bounce off the surface.

He revealed, albeit in a funny way, that he had Morkel by his side in KKR and Delhi Daredevils setups, as he didn't want to face him as an opponent.

Gambhir and Morkel had several face-offs, particularly in Test cricket, with the latter dismissing the former thrice at an average of 26.7.

So, considering both have worked together for multiple teams, both as players and coaches, we expect them to take Indian cricket to new heights.
