A 6 Feet 7 Inches bowler running at you and continuously bowling impeccable line and length, well this might give you sleepless nights as a batter. However, the bowler involved claims that no batter ever gave him any sleepless nights. Well, when you are 'the Sir Curtly Ambrose' you can give such a statement, as it is not you but the one at the other end that might having nightmares.

Curtly Ambrose's cricket career

Sir Ambrose made his international debut in 1988 and from then onwards he was known for his accuracy. He played 98 Test matches for West Indies and picked up 405 wickets in them at an average of 20.99. If we take a look at his ODI career, he picked up 225 wickets in 176 matches at an average of 24.12, while maintaining an economy of just 3.48. The figures are enough to tell you about his accuracy and the reason he is considered one of the Greatest bowlers to have ever graced the game.

Notably, Sir Curtly is currently working with the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons as their bowling coach in CPL 2024. In a recent media interaction of the Falcons, arranged by Parimatch, Ambrose was heard talking about his playing days.

Curtly Ambrose turns heads with his candid reply

During the candid conversation, the anchor of the interaction asked Ambrose, which batter from his playing days gave him sleepless nights, to which the legend replied -

"No one. I have played cricket with some of the greats, but I never thought of cricket once I was out of the ground. Until, next morning when I had to go back to the field to do my job. So, as far as sleepless nights are concerned, absolutely no one."

Talking about Ambrose's stint with the Falcons, it has not been a successful one so far. The Falcons have lost all the four games that they have played so far and are currently lingering at the bottom of the table.
