Pakistan cricket is at its all-time low as the Shan Masood-led side suffered a six-wicket defeat against Bangladesh on Tuesday to lose the two-match home series 0-2. It was the first time in cricket history that Bangladesh won a series against Pakistan in Test cricket.

Fans were fuming after the defeat, and the players were at the helm of heavy criticism, following an underwhelming performance in the two Tests. In the latest events, they have hit a new low after suffering a huge blow in the ICC rankings.

On Wednesday, the ICC updated their weekly ranking charts where Pakistan dropped two spots to slip to 8th position on the list, which is their worst ranking since 1965. Pakistan were placed sixth on the rankings before the series but now are placed even below West Indies.

Test Team Rankings

Australia continue to be on the top, while India are 2nd followed by England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies. Despite two great wins over Pakistan, Bangladesh continue to be on the ninth spot with a 66 rating.

However, The Tigers are doing good for themselves in WTC rankings as they jumped to the fourth spot on the table with a win in the 2nd Test.

Pakistan Skipper Opens Up On Embarrassing Defeat

"Extremely disappointed, we were excited for the home season but the story has been the same as Australia. We have not learnt our lessons. We thought we were playing good cricket in Australia but not doing the job, that's something we need to work on," said Masood.

Shan Masood is yet to win a Test match for Pakistan under his tenure as skipper. He also failed to win a solitary game during the away tour to Australia in 2023.
