In what has been a tough 10 months for Mohsin Khan, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler displayed exemplary skills against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday evening in a must-win encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Khan has had multiple surgeries, did not participate in the first half of IPL, and dealt with personal problems, as his father, Multan Khan was admitted to the hospital due to a brain stroke for 10 days.

Regardless, Khan turned up for LSG all gun blazing, defending 11 runs in the final over, with two of Mumbai's most explosive batters Tim David and Cameron Green batting in the middle. MI could make only five runs in the final over, which witnesses LSG clinch the match by five runs and pocket two much-needed points.

Mr. Multan Khan, who got released from the hospital on Monday, was glued in front of the screen, watching his son do wonders for LSG. Speaking to the Times of India, Multan expressed his happiness over Mohsin's performance.

Mohsin, too, did not wait and called up his father after LSG's win, and asked about his well-being as said by Arman Khan, Mohsin's brother.

Here's what Mohsin's father and brother said

"I am so proud of him. May Allah bless him always. Match jita diya usne (He won the match for the team)," Mohsin's father said.

"Bhai was happy and was trying to make our father feel better. He said he won the match for him. He, in fact, asked - 'are you happy, papa?' Our father replied saying - yes and he was smiling," Mohsin brother added.

The 24-year-old was retained by LSG for 2023 after an impressive 2022 edition, where the pacer picked up 14 wickets. Leading into the IPL 2023, Mohsin missed all domestic season due to a shoulder injury. However, he has been playing as a vital cog since his return.

LSG meet the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tomorrow at Eden Gardens, where a win can help them qualify for playoffs.
