In a crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 encounter, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) failed to beat Delhi Capitals (DC) at Dharamsala, and now face an uphill battle to qualify for the playoffs. Loss aside, the tactics and strategies employed by PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan raised a lot of eyebrows during the match, and now former India opener Aakash Chopra has questioned the team management as well.

Arshdeep Singh, who has been PBKS's best bowler this season, bowled only two overs against DC yesterday, where Dhawan handed the final over to Harpreet Brar, who got canned for 23 runs, shifting the momentum in the opponents' favour. Despite Liam Livingstone's unbeaten 94, Punjab failed to chase down 214 and lost the game by 15 runs.

Chopra took to the social media platform Twitter and quizzed the utilisation of Singh, who has been good with both the new-and-old ball.

Here's what Chopra tweeted

"Arshdeep started this tournament with being in the race for the purple cap and now not bowling with the new ball anymore. Isn’t bowling in the death either. And it’s not about the captaincy, I feel. The team management at PBKS should explain why and how Arshdeep has been marginalised,"

In the ongoing IPL 2023, Singh has scalped 16 wickets, and is Kings' leading wicket-taker. With this loss, Punjab slips down to eight in the points table, and play their final match this season on Friday against Rajasthan Royals.
