The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) rejected the tittle-tattle of Bangladesh being discussed as an exclusive venue for Pakistan's 2023 World Cup matches.

As reported by Cricbuzz, an ICC official vehemently denied any discussions happening that had centred around Bangladesh being the host to Pakistan's World Cup games.

"Bangladesh was not discussed at all at the Board meeting and full backing for the event in India was given by the Board. We're focused on that," an ICC official said as quoted to Cricbuzz.

"It was not discussed at the board. (It) may have been in one of the committees but never in my presence," another member informed.

Earlier in the day, the current General Manager of the ICC Wasim Khan had floated gossip. He opined that it is likely for Pakistan to not go to India and play their World Cup matches at a neutral venue.

"I don't think that Pakistan will play their matches in India. I think their matches will also be held at a neutral venue just like India's Asia Cup matches."

Taking a dig at Wasim, a BCCI official asked him to not act like a CEO of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

"Wasim Khan has no business talking about the neutral venue, he should stop behaving like a PCB CEO."

The upcoming ODI World Cup will be staged during October-November this year. The tournament returns to India for the first time since the 2011 edition.
