In great news for Pakistan cricket, it is believed that Fakhar Zaman will be fit for the 2025 edition of the Asia Cup. Geo Super has stated in its report that the star batter is likely to be available for the continental cup.
Fakhar Zaman's Injury Not Serious; Likely To Get Fit Soon
Fakhar Zaman suffered a strain to his left hamstring, and it was believed that he would miss Asia Cup. However, now Geo Super has stated that the injury is not serious and will take 10-15 days to recover fully, which is a big positive for a young Pakistan team trying to find its feet.
The Pakistan opener got injured in the second T20I against the West Indies recently. It happened while fielding in the 19th over of the Windies innings, and now the cricketer is on his way back to Pakistan from the US.
“He is currently in Dubai on his way back home from the United States and is expected to reach tonight. I spoke to him personally and he told me that it’s a minor injury and it will take him just 10 to 15 days to recover,” a source told Geo Super.
Fakhar Zaman Eyes Another Comeback After Latest Setback
Fakhar Zaman has been battling injuries consistently in his career, and this latest setback has again forced him out of the national side. He made his comeback in the Champions Trophy 2024 last year but suffered an oblique muscle tear during the game against the Kiwis, and it ruled him out of the whole tournament.
The left-handed batter will now begin his rehabilitation at the NCA in Lahore. Pakistan fans would be hoping that he gains full fitness too, as they would need his experience and power-hitting against big teams in Asia Cup.
