In a big positive for India ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, Suryakumar Yadav is back to full fitness and has started batting in nets. The 360-degree batter underwent hernia surgery in June after IPL 2025 and is now preparing hard for the Asia Cup 2025.

Suryakumar Yadav Flaunts His Fitness Ahead Of Asia Cup 2025

The Indian T20I captain shared an update on his official Instagram handle, where he is seen sweating it hard in the gym. In the latter half of the video, he is also seen batting cautiously in the nets. He is likely to get fitter as the time progresses and looks set to lead India in Asia Cup 2025.

Previously, it was reported that Suryakumar Yadav is not playing the Duleep Trophy for West Zone because he is now in the NCA in Bengaluru for rehabilitation. Thus, Suryakumar Yadav's focus currently seems to be only on the T20I format, and he would be looking to continue his good form from IPL into the international level.

Suryakumar Gets Ready For First Multi-Nation Tournament As Captain

In IPL 2025, Suryakumar Yadav was the leading run-scorer for Mumbai Indians and ended up with a total of 717 runs with a stunning average of 65.18 and strike-rate of 167.91. He has been leading India since the 2024 tour of Sri Lanka, and has been pretty successful as a leader with Gautam Gambhir alongside him. However, captaincy has affected his batting numbers, and he averages 26.57 under his own leadership in T20Is, which is way below his average of 43.40 as a non-captain.

The Asia Cup 2025 will start on September 9, and India will begin their campaign against the UAE. They will play their arch-rivals, Pakistan on September 14, and it would be interesting to see what combination captain Suryakumar Yadav prefers in his first multi-nation tournament as captain.
