Indian cricket continues to push its boundaries to provide fans with the ultimate experience. As the country already has some best cricket stadiums across the nation, another one is set to be added to the glorious list.

As Bengaluru has been a hub of Indian cricket in terms of facilities and sporting infrastructure, the state has taken a massive step. The city is all set to have the country’s second-largest cricket stadium, adding a new crown jewel to its sporting legacy.

India’s Next Giant Cricket Arena In Bengaluru

Bengaluru has always been a strong pillar of Indian cricket as Karnataka has gifted some best cricket talents, and the city has provided the best facilities for the game. After the stampede in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s winning celebration, the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is in headlines. In a recent blow, the Justice John Michael Cunha Commission ruled that the venue is unfit to host major events, deepening its woes.

As the bench has recommended a shift, the Karnataka government has taken a massive step. State’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah passed the Karnataka Housing Board’s proposal to build a state-of-the-art sports complex along with a cricket stadium.

The proposed stadium, set to rise in Surya City, Bommasandra on Bengaluru’s southern outskirts, will boast a massive seating capacity of 80,000. With that, the stadium is going to be the second-largest stadium of the nation after the Narendra Modi Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 1,32,000.

Bigger Cricket Venue To Provide The Best Service

As the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is spread across 17 acres, the newly proposed sports centre is expected to spread over 100 acres. Backed by the Karnataka Housing Board, the mega project comes with an estimated price tag of 1,650 crore, entirely funded from its own reserves.

Sources reveal that the upcoming sports center will be a sporting paradise, featuring eight indoor and eight outdoor games, including cricket, along with a swimming pool, guest houses, hostels, training facilities, hotels, and more. With that, a new feather will be added to Karnataka Cricket’s crown.
