Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, having won the tournament five times. Over the years, the team has boasted a plethora of superstars and have won almost everything there is to win. Over the last 18 years, MI has used the IPL trade window smartly, and have brought in key players to bolster the team.

So far, the Mumbai-based team has acquired 16 players through the IPL trade window, and while some failed to deliver, the others went onto win the IPL trophy with them. Here is a list of all the players bought by MI using trade deals.

MI's latest trade acquisition was Hardik Pandya, whom they bought from the Gujarat Titans. Interestingly, before joining GT, Hardik used to play for MI, but after two successful campaigns with the Gujarat side, Hardik was purchased in an all-cash deal.

Other prominent trade deals for MI

Apart from Hardik Pandya, two other deals benefited the franchise. In the 2020 edition, the team bought New Zealand seamer Trent Boult from the Delhi Capitals, and the move turned out to be a masterstroke, as the pacer played a key role in MI's title triumph in the same season, and formed a striking partnership with Jasprit Bumrah.

Also, ahead of the 2019 season, MI traded Quinton de Kock from RCB, and the batter gave new wings to the franchise, as he scored 529 runs in 16 matches, and was pivotal in their championship triumph.
