India Lose Top-Order in Pursuit of 189 in Mumbai ODI Versus Australia

India's chase in the first One-Day International (ODI) against Australia in Mumbai has not been smooth sailing so far for the home side. Chasing 189, the Indian batters have been kept under the radar by Mitchell Starc. Starc, who has blown hot and cold this tour, made perfect use of the conditions on offer at Wankhede.
All-rounder Marcus Stoinis started India's collapse by trapping Ishan Kishan in the second over before the 'Starc Show' commenced.
Starc's first wicket was Virat Kohli (4), who for the first time got out to the bowler in white-ball cricket. The left-hander followed Kohli's wicket by getting the better of Surya Kumar Yadav on a golden duck.
Shubman Gill, who has been in amazing form lately, became Starc's third victim, getting dismissed after playing a flashy drive, only to gift a simple catch in the slip cordon for 20.
As of writing, India are 77 for 4 in 16.3 overs, with skipper Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul batting in the middle on 22* and 24*, respectively.
Earlier, asked to bat first, Australia, despite getting off to a rocking start, managed just 188 runs. Mitchell Marsh top-scored with 81 for the visitors, while Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami shared three wickets each for the hosts.
