The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its nominees for the ICC Men's Player of the Month for January 2023 — Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, and Devon Conway

Shubman Gill

Gill has been in top-notch form for India this year, amassing 769 runs across the white-ball series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, respectively.

The Indian opener has four centuries this year, including an ODI double ton against Sri Lanka. Ranked the highest Indian in ODI Rankings for batters, Gill also won 50-overs Player of the Series award for his showing against the Kiwis.

Mohammed Siraj

Siraj has taken on the responsibility of leading India's bowling in ODIs recently. In 5 white-ball matches for Men in Blue in 2023, Siraj has taken 14 wickets, including two four-wicket hauls.

His performances helped India win an ODI against New Zealand in Hyderabad, from a near-lost position. He is currently ranked the No.1 ODI bowler in the ICC ODI Rankings for Bowlers.

Devon Conway

New Zealand's Conway has been the side's most consistent batter this year. So far, he has registered three tons and two fifties across formats.

The left-handed batter carried his form from Pakistan, where he slammed one Test and two ODI centuries into the India tour.

Across the ODI and T20I legs, the CSK batter accumulated 219 runs, which includes a 138 at Hyderabad, and a match-winning 52 at Ranchi.

Women's Player of the Month

The ICC also announced the Women's Player of the Month for the January nominees, which included two Australian players — Phoebe Litchfield, Beth Mooney, and England's Grace Scrivens.

Litchfield made a mark in her debut ODI series against Pakistan, slamming 154 runs across three matches. Mooney continued to carry Australia's batting on her shoulders, scoring 191 runs versus Pakistan and outshining her younger compatriot.

Scrivens impressed all with her batting and leadership in guiding England U19 to the final of the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup. She hit three fifties and scored 293 runs for her side.
