LPL 2022, KF vs DA: Kandy's multi-faceted performance sinks Dambulla

The 11th match of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2022 panned as a one-sided affair with Kandy Falcons' full-blown execution leading them towards a comprehensive 77-run victory over Dambulla Aura.

Dambulla's painstaking batting show 

Needing 194 runs to win, Dambulla had their backs against the wall right from the start of the innings as the Kandy bowlers washed them away with sheer convenience.

Jordan Cox and Co. knuckled under as the side's top-order failure had a cascading effect on the other batters with their whole batting department going down like a lead balloon.

Carlos Brathwaite, Chamika Karunaratne, Fabian Allen, Chamindu Wijesinghe chipped in with wickets as Dambulla got bundled for 116 in the 15th over and lost by 77 runs.

Kandy exudes clinical batting 

The Falcons had the mastery over all the trades today as prior to the bowling brilliance, their batting dominance lit up the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

A 48-run opening stand between Pathum Nissanka and Andre Fletcher set-up the platform with Kamindu Mendis' 40-ball 58 and Ashen Bandara's final flourish powering Kandy to 193-3.
