AUS vs WI: Alex Carey joins Brad Haddin, Ian Healy in an elite wicket-keeping list

Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey was at his imperial best behind the stumps against West Indies in the 2nd Test match.

He showed his prowess behind the stumps and joined an elite list which comprises of great Ian Healy and Brad Haddin.

In West Indies' second innings, Carey grabbed 6 catches behind the stumps and equals Australia's record for most number of catches in an innings.

The list has some of the greats of Australian cricket, which includes:

  • Arthur Wallace Grout
  • Rodney Marsh
  • Ian Healy
  • Brad Haddin
  • Alex Carey

All the above mentioned greats had 6 dismissals to their name in an innings.

Carey took the catches of Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Kraigg Brathwaite, Devon Thomas, Joshua Da Silva, Roston Chase and Marquino Mindley.

However, what stood for Carey was his outstanding reflex catches that he took of Da Silva, Chsse and Mindley.

As far as the 2nd Test match is concerned, Australia brushed aside the Windies with ease, winning the game by a whopping 419 runs.
