In a significant announcement, England on Tuesday revealed their provisional squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The global tournament is scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka during February and March 2026.
England are placed in Group C, alongside West Indies, Bangladesh, and Italy, and will begin their campaign against Nepal at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
While announcing the T20 World Cup squad, the ECB also confirmed squads for England’s ODI and T20I tour of Sri Lanka, which will serve as crucial preparation ahead of the World Cup.
One of the most significant talking points is the inclusion of Jofra Archer in the World Cup squad, despite the fast bowler missing the Sri Lanka tour. Another notable inclusion is Josh Tongue, who has received his maiden T20I call-up.

Gujarat Titans – 3 Players
Tom Banton, Jos Buttler, Luke Wood
The Gujarat Titans (GT) lead the list with three players from England’s playing XI.
- Gujarat Titans signed Tom Banton for ₹2 crore at the IPL 2026 mini-auction held on December 16, 2025. Known for his aggressive batting at the top of the order, Banton adds depth and flexibility to both England and GT.
- Jos Buttler, one of England’s most destructive batters, will turn out for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026 after being retained for a hefty ₹15.75 crore. Buttler moved from Rajasthan Royals during the IPL 2025 auction and remains a key figure in England’s T20 setup.
- Luke Wood, the left-arm pacer, was picked up by the Gujarat Titans for his base price of ₹75 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction. He can swing the ball early and can even score runs lower down the order.
