"As a leader he wants..." David Miller on how Hardik Pandya is as a captain

South Africa's David Miller has been awestruck by Hardik Pandya's captaincy skills. The batter was all praise for Pandya as he recalled playing under him in the Indian Premier League. Miller believes that Pandya can bring a great change in Indian T20 cricket as a captain, he stated that the star all-rounder has the discipline and clarity to lead team India. 

Since India's blunder campaign in the T20 World Cup 2022, captaincy has been questioned. It is believed that India will now proceed with split captaincy. Meaning that Pandya has great chances of becoming the T20 captain. 

Miller on Hardik's captaincy skills

"Pandya is a natural leader. He allows you to play the way that you feel like you can and had played a crucial role in steering Gujarat Titans to the title on their debut."

"Just playing under him in the IPL, I feel he is very inclusive as a leader, he wants everyone to be close to each other, at the same time, he is clear with his discipline. He has got a lot of good attributes of a leader."

Many cricket icons have backed Pandya as a captain, including Indian legends Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri. To which Pandya had replied - 

"To be honest, my thing is simple, if I do one match or one series, I will lead the team my way, how I see and perceive the game. Whenever I am given the opportunity, I will always go out and play the brand of cricket I know. As a unit, we will display my brand. As far as whatever (captaincy) comes in future, we will see."
