Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani succeeds Amit Shah as President of GCA

On November 19, Gujarat Cricket Association elected their President by naming the former vice-president Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani to hold the top chair from immediate effect. Nathwani is a renowned Indian industrialist and sports administrator, who is worked in close quarters in Gujarat's Cricket and Football associations. 

The 33-year-old played a key role in the development of the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, which is the largest cricket stadium present in the world with a crowd capacity of 1.3 lakh. 

The newly appointed GCA President will hold the chair which was last held by the Indian Home Minister, Amit Shah. 

On his appointment, Nathwani said, "I consider it a great honour to be appointed as president of GCA. I am thankful to our former presidents, Amit Shah and Jay Shah and members of the association for having given me the opportunity to serve the noble game of cricket in Gujarat."

"I am determined of spreading the sport into remote areas of Gujarat and working towards developing infrastructure and creating opportunities for talented boys and girls at the grassroots level."

The GCA has also announced their vice-president, secretary, joint-secretary and treasurer with immediate effect in Hemantbhai Contractor, Anilbhai Patel, Mayurbhai Patel and Bharat Zaveri, respectively.
