South Africa's Keegan Petersen injured, doubtful for Australia tour

In the Cricket South Africa T20 Challenge, Keegan Petersen was stretched off the field after suffering from a hamstring injury. The batter injured himself while fielding at the ropes, he saved a boundary but immediately fell to the ground while gripping his leg. 

Petersen scored a 51 ball 63 knock earlier in the match, the batter is doubtful for South Africa's tour of Australia for a three-match Test tour. The series starts on 17th December. 


Who will be the replacement?

In the case of Petersen's absence, the Proteas will have to look for a replacement at number 3 in the batting lineup. A possible replacement could be Rassie van der Dussen, who injured his right index finger but is predicted to be fit soon. Temba Bavuma will most likely make a feature in the squad a with backups Ryan Rickelton and Khaya Zondo.


The Mark Boucher era ends

The Australian Test tour will be the first after Mark Boucher's departure as head coach. He resigned from his post to take up a role at the Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians. Malibongwe Maketa will be taking up the interim role for the tour.
