India's head coach Rahul Dravid has given an update on the injury status of wicket-keeping batter Dinesh Karthik. Dravid has stated that a fitness assessment is due on Wednesday and that the team management will take a call on if DK will be replaced in the game against Bangladesh.

Karthik had left the field in the last 5 overs of the match against South Africa, and Rishabh Pant had come in as the stand-in wicket-keeper.

Dravid clears the air

"This morning Dinesh Karthik has come to practice. We will assess his fitness tomorrow. Our belief is to back the guys."

The confirmation of whether or not DK will play the game against Bangladesh will only come in after the assessment. The batter was picked ahead of Rishabh Pant considering his brilliant run-stint in the IPL. Although, the batter has been unable to churn out any worthwhile innings in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Concerns have been raised regarding Karthik's form and the wicket-keeping errors that were visible against Netherlands. Many have opined that Pant should come in instead of Karthik.
