Karthik Meiyappan shares his experience of interacting with MS Dhoni

UAE spin sensation Karthik Meiyappan recently rose to fame by recording the first hat trick of the ongoing T20 World Cup. 

Hailed as the best mystery bowler in the gulf nation, Meiyappan has shared his pleasant experience of interacting with legendary former Indian captain MS Dhoni during his stint with the Chennai Super Kings as a net bowler in the IPL 2021. 

Speaking to the Indian Express, Meiyappan highlighted how friendly Dhoni was during the chat. The 22-year-old also explained how his time in CSK helped him evolve as a bowler. 

Here's what Meiyappan stated

"Not very often would you get a chance to rub shoulders with the best and learn how they prepare for a match. And then, in 2021, I got a chance to be with the Super Kings, which was again a thoroughly enjoyable experience,

"Had a chance to meet and speak with (MS) Dhoni, who was very accommodating and ready to share, which in itself was great for a youngster like me."

Meiyappan became an overnight hero after delivering a dream spell in UAE's second World Cup encounter against Sri Lanka. The Chennai-born dismantled the Lankan middle order by dismissing Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka in three consecutive deliveries in the fifteenth over. In this process, he became the first bowler from UAE to register a hat-trick in a T20 World Cup.
