India's new bowling sensation Arshdeep Singh rocked South Africa's top-order within a span of six balls, which halted the visitors' charge. It was a 'Swing it with Singh' show in the first T20I at Thiruvananthapuram, which witnessed the left-arm bowler display a rousing spell, knocking over the likes of Quinton de Kock, Rilee Rossouw, and David Miller.

Speaking during his press conference, Singh talked about Team India's preparations ahead of the marquee ICC T20 World Cup 2022 next month. The 23-year-old revealed the management is focusing on adaptability, which acts as motivation for everyone heading to Australia.

Arshdeep on Team India preparations

"Adaptability is the big motive of our team. The main motive is adapting to the situations and demands of the team, whatever the situations and conditions are. When we go there (Australia) we will see how the conditions are. I'm looking forward to doing well.

We are trying to tick all the boxes in the practice sessions and trying to execute all our plans on the field. Today (Wednesday) was really a good example of showing a good power play bowling and we are looking forward to do amazing things in the coming days."

An U-19 World Cup winning player for India, Singh also opened up on his spell against South Africa in the first T20I last evening.

"Getting the wickets early on was always a great feeling. The plan was really simple, the ball was swinging. I had to pitch it in the right places and it worked well. It was about hitting the right areas and making sure the line was good,"

The second T20I of the three-match series will take place in Guwahati on October 2.
