Indian captain Rohit Sharma was full of praise for young left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh in his press-conference ahead of the 1st T20I against Australia in Mohali on September 20.

While counting the positives from India's wrecked Asia Cup 2022 campaign, Rohit attributed Arshdeep's death bowling exploits as one of the major takeaways ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Apart from lauding Arshdeep's obvious death bowling skills, the Indian skipper was full of praise for his temperament. He also added that the 22-year-old seamer has added much needed variety to the Indian attack.

Here's what Rohit Sharma said:

"The way Arshdeep bowled was very impressive. The way he landed yorkers under extreme pressure in his first year of international cricket, it is not easy. He is a very smart guy and keeps things simple. We needed a left-arm seamer and he has done well in IPL and then he came here (into the India team) and has done well. We always wanted variety in our attack and we have that now,”

Arshdeep Singh has been sensational for India so far

Arshdeep Singh has been one of the most consistent pacers in T20 cricket in the past few years.

The 2018 U19 World Cup winner has been one of the best death bowlers in the IPL in the past few seasons, and he has managed to emulate that in his limited outings for the national team.

Singh bowled incredibly in the 20th over in the Super-4 fixtures against Pakistan and Sri Lanka albeit on a losing note.

He will be India's trump card at the death on those big grounds of Australia in the T20 World Cup.
