SA 20: Paarl Royals name JP Duminy as head coach, Lisa Keightley joins as tactical performance coach

SA 20 franchise Paarl Royals have appointed former South African player JP Duminy as their head coach for the first-ever season of Cricket South Africa's premier T20 league.

Brought by Rajasthan Royals owners, the franchise announced Duminy's support staff as well. Former England Women's coach Lisa Keightley joins in as tactical performance coach, while Titans coach Mandla Mashimbyi takes on the role of fast bowling coach. Richard das Neves, who was part of the Namibia cricket team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is named as spin bowling and strategy coach.

Mark Charlton, who was awarded Division 2 coach of the year by CSA last month, will become their batting coach.

AT Rajamani will work as a strength and conditioning coach, with Russel Aspeling acting as a team catalyst.Duminy, who was earlier appointed as head coach of Boland Cricket, sounded pleased with his new association

"I have always had a very close connection with Paarl, having played plenty of my cricket at Boland Park, and hence it’s an honour for me to have been appointed as the Head Coach of the Paarl Royals. 

It is an exciting time for everyone associated with South African cricket and I’m really looking forward to working with some exceptional international and local players. The shared knowledge and experience in the dressing room is what I'm most excited about and having the privilege to facilitate and unlock our abilities together with my coaching/management staff." 

Royals' have already snapped up Jos Buttler, Obed McCoy, David Miller, and Corbin Bosch ahead of players draft on September 19.
