Johnson Charles' help Warriors post a competitive total

Invited to bat first, Kings were off to a thunderous start in the presence of experienced Johnson Charles and Faf du Plessis. The duo added 93 runs in eight overs before Faf (31) was cleaned up by Tabraiz Shamsi.

Afterwards, only Tim David (23) could prove to be a support in the line-up. The belligerent Charles remained unbeaten on 87 off 59, which propelled Kings to a total of 161.

Shamsi and Keemo Paul scalped two wickets each for the Warriors.

Klaasen guides Warriors to open their account

In response, the Warriors could not secure a stable start. The dismissals of Shai Hope (11), Chandrapaul Hemraj (23) and Colin Ingram (6) in quick succession, put them under the pump.

However, the seasoned campaigners Heinrich Klaasen and Shimron Hetmyer were proficient with their ability to resurrect and then steer the team at a lavish rate.

Following the wicket of Hetmyer (32) in the 14th over, Keemo Paul was imperious with his strokes. Paul (21* off 10) and Klaasen (61* off 46) chased down the total, with 10 overs to spare.

Brief Scores:

St Lucia Kings- 161/7 (20)

Johnson Charles 87 (59), Faf du Plessis 31 (20);
Tabraiz Shamsi 4/14, Keemo Paul 2/27

Guyana Amazon Warriors- 162/4 (18.2)

Heinrich Klaasen 61* (46), Shimron Hetmyer 32 (21);
