Ned Eckersley and Durham County Cricket Club (DCCC) have decided to end their association after the former left the club. Eckersley has been a mainstay in the side's batting lineup across formats since making his debut in 2019.

The 33-year-old scored more than 1,500 runs for Durham, including leading them during the County Championship 2020. His final match for the club was in the T20 Blast in July against Derbyshire.

Having made his debut with Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) in 2008, Eckersley has played 147 First-Class, 46 List-A, and 92 T20 games, accumulating nearly 9,500 runs, which includes 17 centuries.

Director of Durham Cricket, Marnus North, thanked Eckersley for his services to the club,

"We would like to thank Ned for his effort and commitment during his time with us. From joining the club, Ned has been a real pleasure to work with and we thank his contribution in a Durham shirt, we wish him all the best for the future."

With the keeper-batter gone, Durham is on the lookout for a youngster to fill the veteran's shoes. The club are in talks with Kent County Cricket Club (KCCC) to grab hold of the 23-year-old Oliver (Ollie) Robinson, who had a short stint with the club on loan during the T20 Blast 2022. Robinson scored 226 runs from 14 games.

Overall the wicketkeeper has played 45 FC, 22 List-A, and 32 T20 games. He has represented England's Under-19 side as well.
