The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to clash with the mighty Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025 after the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the new Future Tour Programme (FTP) for the 2023-2027 window.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the tentative dates for the next four editions of Pakistan’s premier T20 competition. The scheduling reflects that the 10th edition of the PSL will be staged during the March-May window which means that it will wrangle with the IPL as the IPL's two and half month window starts from March and goes on till the beginning of June.

Traditionally, PCB conducts PSL between February and March every year but due to the busy cricketing schedule over the next few years, which includes the introduction of new franchise T20 tournaments around the world, PCB has decided not to set a fixed window for the tournament.

However with Pakistan declared as the host nation for the Men's ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the January-February window will be given to the multi-nation tournament. With no options left for the board, the PSL 2025 has been forced to push

Since the inception of the IPL, the cash-rich league is firmly stuck with its March-April window over the course of its 15 editions and it is highly unlikely that the BCCI will make any changes in its cricketing calendar.

The drawback with the postponement of the PSL comes in the form of a clash with the IPL, which could hamper the league in a big manner.
