U19 WC 2022 Final | IND U19 vs ENG U19: In-form India look to add another trophy in the cabinet

Battling against all odds, the Indian team has registered a berth in the U19 World Cup final for the fourth time on the trot and they will now be up against England in Antigua on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

India rode on some exceptional all-around show to thump Australia by 96 runs in the semis with skipper Yash Dhull scoring a century while Shaik Rasheed missed out on a well-deserved ton but he made a valuable contribution with a 108-ball 94.

Later, the bowling unit especially the spinners ripped through the Australian batting lineup and anchor the side home pretty comfortably.

On the other side, England in a rain-curtailed match against the Afghanistan side had to work hard to make a place for themselves in the final.

Chasing 231 in 47 overs, Afghanistan started off in a decent manner but lost the way eventually to lose the match by 15 runs (DLS Method). They were restricted to 215/9 in 47 overs. The England team would want their middle-order to be among runs.

Pitch Report

The track in Antigua has something on offer for both the batters and bowlers. But the team chasing a target might face some issues as we saw in the last game so, whosoever wins the toss should elect to bat first.

India should stick to basics

The Indian team doesn't really need to make changes as they have been in quite a brilliant form in this competition despite being affected by the Covid-19 earlier.

Captain Dhull and the other batters are in some good form while the bowling unit especially the likes of Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Ravi Kumar and Vicky Ostwal have shown a glimpse of their excellence.

While Hangrekar can generate express pace, Ostwal has deceived the batters quite well with his spin.
