One of the greatest openers from the roots of Australia, David Warner has stepped onto the field for the one last time in the longest format in the ongoing series against Pakistan. At his home ground, he is bidding adieu to the longest format and has walked out to bat in the middle in his last Test.

The southpaw's performance against Pakistan has been nothing short of exemplary throughout his career, irrespective of the formats. Even his highest Test score came against the Pakistan team, where he smashed a triple-century and registered his name for the elite list of players scoring a triple-ton in Test cricket.

In just 21 innings, Warner has amassed 1467 runs with the help of six centuries and 5 half-centuries, including his highest score of 335* runs in Adelaide, back in 2019. As he has walked out to bat in the last Test of the series, OneCricket presents his top performances from his career against the Pakistan team.

Let's have a look at his top 5 knocks from David Warner's bat against Pakistan in the red-ball cricket.

David Warner has been one of the consistent batters from the last decade for the Australian team. In the year 2019, Australia hosted a two-match Test series for Pakistan, which included a day-night pink ball Test as well. Australia already won the first test heading into the pink ball Test, which was the only chance for Pakistan to save the series.

Australia batted first and posted a huge total of 589 runs. David Warner, who opened the innings went on to make a record-breaking triple-century. He scored 335 runs, which included 39 boundaries and only one six. With his highest score, Australia did not have to bat again in the game as they bowled out Pakistan twice and claimed the victory by an innings and 48 runs.

Just a few days back, David Warner entered into his last Test series with a bang, as he went on to smash a daddy hundred in the first innings of the Perth Test. Earlier in the year 2023, David Warner announced that the Test series against Pakistan would be his last outing in the longest format. Before coming into the series, his performance in the longest format was poor, but knowing this was his last one, he smashed the Pakistan bowlers.

In the first match of the ongoing Test series against Pakistan, Warner smashed 164 runs including 16 boundaries and four maximums, he slammed all the critics. With his century, the Aussies managed to post a big first innings total of 487 runs and went on to win the game, as the Pakistan batters could not cover the trail in their first innings.

At the Gabba cricket stadium, during the same Test series in 2019, where David Warner smashed a triple-century in the next game, he hammered the Pakistan bowlers to score a ton in the first innings of the game, helping the Aussies cover the trail of 240 runs and adding 340 more to their total along with the contributions from Usman Khwaja and Marnus Labuschagne.

David Warner went on to score 154 runs off 296 deliveries, which included 10 boundaries. This knock of Warner gave the Aussies a chance to bowl out Pakistan early and claim a victory by an innings. Well, that's what exactly happened, as the Australians went on to win the first Test of the series by an innings and five runs. David Warner was also awarded the Player of the Series award, he top scored with a triple-century in the next game.

At one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, Australia were playing the second Test of the three-match Test series against the Pakistan team in 2016. Having won the first Test of the series, the Aussies entered into this contest with high confidence.

David Warner, who could not get going in the first Test, went on to make the most of the second Test at the MCG. He went on to score 144, which helped the Aussies post a big total of 624 runs. With his 144 and and Steve Smith's 165, the Australian team did not have to bat again as they had enough lead, which helped them seal the win by an innings and 18 runs.

In the year 2014, Pakistan hosted a two-match Test series along with three ODI's in the United Arab Emirates. Playing the first Test, David Warner was the lone warrior from the Australian team, as no other batter could even cross the 40-run mark. However, it felt like Warner was batting on a different pitch.

The southpaw went on to score 133 runs off 174 deliveries and did everything in his capacity to help the Aussies get into a comfortable position in the first Test of the series. Unfortunately, the Australian team could not outperform the Pakistan teams in Asian conditions and went on to lose the first Test at the Dubai International Stadium.
