'Aap Karo Toh Chamatkar...' - Sehwag Dishes '3 Idiots' Analogy After Shortest Test Match

The Indian cricket team earned its moment of redemption after trashing South Africa in an unconventional test match that unfolded in the beautiful city of Cape Town.

The game kicked off with a stellar six-wicket haul from Mohammad Siraj and ended with Jasprit Bumrah's exceptional fifer on Day 2.

Meanwhile, the Proteas, despite brave fightback, could only put up a lowly target of 79 runs on board, which the visitors chased down in under 12 overs. And with that, the highly anticipated red ball contest ended in less than two days with only 104 overs bowled over the course of four innings.

That being said, while India walked away with the last laugh, the fans aren't amused with the lack of discussion over adverse pitch conditions.

Virender Sehwag calls out West's hypocrisy

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag also raised the issue via his social media handle and took a subtle dig at the critics who previously used to slam Indian pitching conditions when test matches reached their conclusion within three days.

A while ago, when England toured India for a test series, a game at Ahmedabad concluded within three days as spin-friendly pitchers assisted Indian spinners. However, the Englishmen criticized the pitch conditions and demanded sanctions by the ICC.

But now, as a similar instance unfolded at Cape Town, the lack of debate around pitch conditions baffled Sehwag. He took to his X handle to call out the hypocrisy.

Not only that, Sehwag reckoned that even in conditions that offer substantial help to fast bowlers, the Indian pace attack is more threatening than the opposition owing to its quality. And the Cape Town test is a perfect testament to that narrative.

Lastly, Virender Sehwag lauded Bumrah and Siraj's salient efforts and also congratulated India for the stellar victory.

Having said that, the Newlands Cricket Ground's pitch will be reviewed by ICC in the near future. Many opine that the venue will be penalized for producing bias towards the fast bowlers.
