[Watch] WI Young Sensation Alick Athanaze Slams Flat-Six Deep Into The Stands In CPL 2024

The CPL 2024 is now into its 13th game, and it is Barbados Royals up against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at the Kensington Oval. Falcons batted first and scored 176 while batting first and in reply, Barbados have started well with Quinton De Kock and Alick Athanaze finding boundaries at regular intervals after losing Cornwall early.

The young West Indies left-handed batter Athanaze walked out to bat at number 3 and started going straightaway. He hit a six in the final over of the Powerplay as well when Chris Green, the Falcons' skipper tossed up a delivery on middle and leg. Athanaze stayed deep and slog swept it over deep mid-wicket with great ease, sending it deep into the stands. 

The young batter has recently shown his class at the international level too, and would be looking to deliver some big impactful performances in this CPL.

Barbados Royals Deliver Disciplined Bowling Performance

In the first half, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons got off to a rapid start in the Powerplay with Brandon King playing positive cricket. Keshav Maharaj though removed him and Falcons' innings lost a bit of steam after that wicket. Billings and Greaves did hit fifties, but they were a tad slow, and so Barbados managed to restrict Falcons to a chaseable total with Holder and Naveen-ul-Haq picking two wickets apiece.
