The Barbados Royals and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are facing each other in the 13th match of the CPL 2024. The match is taking place at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. 

This match is important for both teams' journeys in the tournament. Both teams are coming into this game on the back of two wins and are eyeing a third to firm their position at the top of the table. 

In a match of significance, Rovman Powell, the skipper of the Barbados Royals, won the toss and invited the Falcons to bat first. The two openers, Brandon King and Justin Greaves, got the Falcons off to a good start as they stitched together 55 runs in the first six overs.

Following King's departure in the seventh over, Sam Billings stepped into the field and joined forces with Greaves. The two players showcased exceptional teamwork, building a crucial partnership of 92 runs and solidifying their position in the game after the strong opening stand. 

Greaves and Billings displayed outstanding batsmanship in the middle. On the other hand, the Royals fielders were having an off day at the office. It was during the 16th over of the Falcons' innings that a funny incident occurred on the field, amusing the viewers. 

Powell and Cornwall let an easy chance go by

Obed McCoy had the responsibility with the ball for this over. The bowler came around the wicket and bowled a good length delivery at the middle and leg stump, angling into the batter. Sam Billings stepped down the track and tried to loft the ball on the offside. However, he only got a leading edge that skied up in the air. 

Both Cornwall and Powell went for the catch, but the lack of clear communication between them added a dramatic twist to the game. As they both focused on the ball, neither called for the catch, resulting in a collision and a missed opportunity for the Royals. 

Although Sam Billings fell a couple of overs later, Justin Greaves continued his knock till the end of the innings. He scored a brilliant 61 off 52 and remained unbeaten in the middle. The Falcons lost a few wickets towards the end of the innings, but they scored 176/5 at the end of their 20 overs.
