Virat Kohli who is known for his commitment to Test cricket, has delivered many unforgettable performances for India. However, recently, he was seen struggling to his find form. Kohli’s main struggle seems to be against spin bowlers, especially left-arm spinners. His difficulties continued in the third Test against New Zealand at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where he was dismissed for just 1 run off 7 balls.

India faced a tough task, needing 119 runs to win the Test in Pune. With India’s top order already weakened by the third day's first session, the team was counting on Kohli. But in the sixth over of India’s second innings, Kohli faced a challenging delivery from Ajaz Patel, who has proven his skill at Wankhede before. Patel bowled a full-length delivery on leg stump, which spun away from Kohli’s bat.

Despite his best efforts to defend with soft hands, Kohli edged the ball to first slip, where Daryl Mitchell completed the catch with a dive. It was another low score for Kohli and India were seen vulnerable yet again.

India's Collapse Under Pressure

India thought of chasing down the low-score by the end of the day, however, India captain Rohit Sharma was removed by Matt Henry for 11 runs and then Ajaz Patel showed his magic, taking down Shubman Gill for 1 run and then taking Virat Kohli. Later, Glenn Phillips dimissed Yashasvi Jaiswal, leaving India tattering against the spin.

At the time of writing, India are at 23 for 4 in 7 overs.
