Australia are set to tour Sri Lanka in early 2025 for a two-Test series and one One-Day International (ODI). However, Australian captain and all-rounder Pat Cummins may not be part of the squad due to family commitments. The tour schedule was announced on Friday, November 1, by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

Pat Cummins is expected to miss the Sri Lanka tour as he and his wife Becky Boston are expecting their second child. Australia head coach, Andrew McDonald, commented on the matter, indicating that the team will respect Cummins' decision. McDonald added that Mitch Marsh and Travis Head are currently on paternity leave for the Pakistan three-match ODI series, so the team understands and respects family commitments when necessary.

"We'll see what that looks like closer to the time. We've got a couple of players in Mitch Marsh and Travis Head taking paternity leave at the moment (for the Pakistan ODI series)," McDonald was quoted as saying by India Today.

"So we respect that if that was to unfold for that particular time and if he wants to miss a Test. If he's got bigger things to take care of than a Test match in Sri Lanka, then that's fine with us," the former cricketer further said.
