Travis Head's wicket in 2nd T20I (X.com)
Travis Head is a dangerous batter and he is in great form as well. He showed that in the first T20I between England and Australia with a swashbuckling knock of 59 off 23 balls. In the second game at Cardiff also he started off with a bang and smashed two sixes and 4 fours before Carse stopped the carnage with his wicket.
The wicket came on the second delivery of the 5th over and Brydon Carse bowled a length delivery, outside off. Head made a bit of room and threw his bat towards the ball, but ended up hitting it straight to Adil Rashid at point. It was a much-needed relief for England as the opening stand was already 52 in the fifth over and Head departed for 31 off just 14 balls.
Head was also leading Australia in the second T20I in the absence of Mitchell Marsh, and after his wicket, the likes of Jake Fraser-McGurk and Josh Inglis carried forward the momentum. Australia ended up scoring 193 in their 20 overs and it seemed that they would seal the series going into the second half.
Liam Livingstone's Special Effort Sinks Australia
However, Liam Livingstone's special all-round effort spoiled Australia's plans. The England star first picked two wickets with the ball and gave away just 16 runs in his three overs and then unleashed his full power with the bat.
He hammered 87 off just 47 balls which included five sixes and six fours and with cameos by Phil Salt and Jacob Bethell, England managed to chase down the target and level the series at Cardiff. The final T20I of the series will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester on Sunday, 15th of September and it promises to be another cracking game.
