Travis Head showed no mercy to Sam Curran on Wednesday (September 11) when Australia met England in the first T20I of the three-match series at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. The southpaw smashed as many as 30 runs off Curran's over, which included three massive sixes and as many fours.
Travis Head Turns Into A Beast Against Sam Curran
Head's onslaught against Curran came during the fifth over of Australia's innings. He began with back-to-back boundaries, one towards left to mid-on and the other through extra cover. Then he kept on going hard against Curran, smashing a hat-trick of sixes on the bounce to leave the Englishman helpless.
To finish things off, he hoisted Curran over extra cover for another boundary. In the process, Head, who was batting on 15 off 12 balls, raced to a splendid half-century in just 19 deliveries.

However, Australia failed to capitalise Head's breathtaking 59, which came off just 26 balls. His opening partner and Adelaide Strikers' teammate Matthew Short was impressive as well, making 41 off 26 balls, but others failed to carry on the momentum.
At the time of writing this, Australia are 145/5 after 14.1 overs, with Cameron Green and Josh Inglis in the middle, batting on 28* and 4* respectively. They lost skipper Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, and Tim David, three of their hard-hitting batters, cheaply, as none of them managed to cross 10.
For England, Liam Livingstone was the pick of the bowler, taking three wickets for 21 runs within three overs. Saqib Mahmood and Adil Rashid were the other wicket-takers for the hosts.
