More often than not, Imran Tahir used to run almost entire ground moments after getting successes for South Africa. The leg-spinner still does the same, although only on the domestic circuits.

A similar celebration took place at Eden Gardens during South Africa’s World Cup 2023 semi-final against Australia on Thursday (November 16). And the man who did that was none other than Tahir's successor, Tabraiz Shamsi.

However, considering the game situation, Shamsi’s celebration was no surprise for spectators, especially because of Glenn Maxwell’s rich vein of form in the World Cup 2023. More significantly, the manner in which Shamsi got the success was ‘bowled out’, thus, Shamsi going berserk was bound to happen in Kolkata.

It was a flatter delivery by Shamsi, and Maxwell, batting on 1 off five balls, tried to heave it away after going on the back foot. However, there was not so much bounce that Maxwell thought there would be, and thus, the ball went on to uproot the leg stump.

Shamsi was absolutely pumped after getting Maxwell's wicket to keep South Africa's hopes alive, and therefore, it brought back memories of Tahir.

At the time of writing, Australia, chasing 213, are batting on 154/5 in 27.3 overs.
