There were questions about Ravi Bishnoi after the BCCI chose him and ignored Yuzvendra Chahal for India’s five-match T20I series against Australia. However, the young legspinner silenced the critics immediately, having taken a wicket on the fourth ball of the day during the first T20I against the recently-crowned champions on Thursday.

And Matthew Short, who, with the help of three fours, scored 13 off 11 balls, was at the receiving end.

It was a nicely tossed up delivery by Bishnoi, which Short, in order to smash it, swung hard. However, the Australian opener was completely beaten by the speed of the delivery before it went on to break the off stump.

Bishnoi did his trademark celebration right after, pointing both hands towards the sky.

After asking Australia to bat, the Suryakumar-led side did not have a great start in Visakhapatnam. Riding on Steven Smith and Josh Inglis' exploits, the Kangaroos, at the time of writing, raced to 65/1 after seven overs.

Among the options in the Men in Blue attack, Prasidh Krishna leaked more runs. The lanky fast bowler conceded 32 runs without any success in his first two overs, while no other bowler conceded more than seven runs an over.
