You should expect entertainment in the middle whenever Steve Smith is in action. Similarly, on Thursday, the talismanic batsman showed his class before getting dismissed via run out after a ‘hilarious’ fall.

After scoring 52 off 41 balls, Smith went for a pull over short leg against Mukesh Kumar during the 16th over of Australia’s innings. The former Australian captain, after mistiming it completely, fell to the ground. However, Josh Inglis urged him to run, and Smith went for it after the stumble.

Placed at short fine leg, Prasidh Krishna was quick to react to it. He gave the ball to Mukesh at non-strikers’ end, and the bowler dislodged the bails before Smith reached the crease. On-field umpires asked the third umpire to confirm it, and the replay on the big screen confirmed Smith’s dismissal.
