In the recent match between Mumbai's clash against TNCA XI on the third day, Suryakumar Yadav made headlines as he bowled in the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament.

Known more for his explosive batting, 'SKY' rolled his arm over with some gentle off-breaks, but one of his deliveries, a high full toss, almost led to an unfortunate incident.

Athish SR capitalised on the loose ball and smacked it for a boundary, forcing the short-leg fielder to duck for cover.

The incident gained headlines when Suryakumar Yadav acknowledged the dangerous delivery and raised his hand in apology.

This isn't the first time recently that he has tried his hand at bowling. He also bowled in a T20 match against Sri Lanka last month, surprisingly forcing a Super Over.

Despite Mumbai's efforts, including a five-wicket haul by Himanshu Singh, TNCA XI put up a strong batting performance and comfortably surpassed 350 runs in their first innings.

Their bowlers, particularly R Sai Kishore, kept the pressure on Mumbai, who were bowled out for a modest 156.

Suryakumar Yadav Keen To Make Test comeback

The destructive batter, Suryakumar Yadav made his much-awaited debut for India in the longest format of the game in February 2023 against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series in Nagpur.

This remains the only appearance in the format, but now he has another opportunity to make a comeback for India as he has been named in the upcoming Duleep Trophy tournament.

The red-ball event will play a key role in his selection committee in picking the 15-member squad for the Bangladesh Test series next month.
