Rohit Sharma, the five-time IPL champion and the backbone of the Mumbai Indians squad for the last decade or so, is all set to be retained by MI ahead of the auction for IPL 2025. 

The news has been revealed by Rohit Juglan, the cricket journalist who works for RevSports on his official X handle, and if it is true, it is great news for Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians fans who have seen the Hitman take Mumbai Indians to great heights during his captaincy tenure.

Recently, there were also rumors that Rohit Sharma will leave Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2025, and the likes of Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are keen to buy him at any cost. Those rumours garnered fuel because Rohit was replaced by Hardik Pandya ahead of IPL 2024 as Mumbai Indians captain and Rohit Sharma was reportedly not happy with the move.  However, it seems that the franchise has learned the lesson, and doesn't want to take any chances ahead of IPL 2025.

However, Rohit Juglan has not revealed whether he will lead Mumbai Indians or not. Hardik Pandya had a forgettable last season both as a captain and as a player, but with his stocks rising again after heroics in the T20 World Cup, it would be interesting to see who leads Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025.
