England's Test captain, Ben Stokes, showcased his bowling exploits in Durham's latest County Championship Division One encounter against Worcestershire. The veteran allrounder, who contributed 82 runs across the game, bowled an absolute ripper to knock over Rob Jones.

The incident occurred during the 21st over of Worcestershire's second innings when they were chasing a steep 231-run target.

After losing Gareth Roderick and skipper Jake Libby, Worcestershire were rocked by the dismissal of Jones, who was cleaned up by Stokes.

After setting him up with a few short-pitched deliveries, Stokes pitched it around the good length as the ball seamed away slightly to beat Jones on his defence.

As a result, the batter saw his off stump being uprooted, with Durham getting the prized third wicket inside 21 overs.

Worcestershire defeat Durham by six wickets

Although Worcestershire were in a spot of bother, losing three quick wickets during the run chase, a match-winning partnership between Kashif Ali and Adam Hose helped them get over the line.

Both players cracked counterattacking fifties as Worcestershire successfully chased the target in 61.2 overs despite initial jitters.

Regarding Stokes, the legendary cricketer is all set to lead England in their upcoming Test assignment against West Indies.
