Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has recently been in the news for his fire-spitting remarks against Virat Kohli following India's historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory in Barbados.
For the unknown, Manjrekar's fiery criticism of Kohli was sparked by the 'controversial' decision to award him the Man of the Match in the T20 World Cup finale against South Africa.
He argued that Kohli's knock did not allow 'devastating' Hardik Pandya to play more balls and that the award should have gone to the bowlers who saved the game.
Kohli's 76 off 59 helped India revive their innings and navigate through a callous point in the game after a massive fall-out at the beginning that led to the loss of Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant way too early.
