[Watch] St Kitts' Captain Smiles In Pain As Royals Seal Win With A Six In A Nail-Biting Thriller

Another day in CPL, and another match has gone down the wire. The recently concluded match between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Barbados Royals went down to the 20th over of the match, and the Royals emerged victorious. However, the game could have shifted either way.

The Royals asked the hosts to bat first. Their decision proved to be a masterstroke as the Patriots lost their first three wickets for no runs on the board. The middle order did well, particularly Wanindu Hasaranga and Mikyle Louis, who stitched an 82-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Despite that, the Patriots failed to put a big score on the board and could only post 153 runs. In reply, Barbados too had a disastrous start as they lost Rahkeem Cornwall early in the innings.

The Royals kept on losing wickets at regular intervals, but they were ahead in the game. However, quick wickets in the death overs forced the game to be taken to the last over.

Young Follows Footsteps Of Pretorius And Seifert

Requiring 8 off the last over, Jason Holder threw his wicket on the very first ball. Nonetheless, Nyeem Young took the onus on his shoulders and smashed a boundary on the third ball of the over to ease off the pressure.

On the 5th ball of the last over, Young smashed a six to seal the win for his side. He followed the footsteps of Dwaine Pretorius and Tim Seifert, who too won the game for their teams with a six in CPL 2024.

Barbados Royals And St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Journey So Far

The Royals are doing well for themselves as they have now won two matches in a row, while things are going south for the St Kitts as they registered their fourth straight defeat.
