Bangladesh's bowlers were effective as they restricted the Sri Lankan batting lineup. Rishad Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman took three wickets each, while Taskin Ahmed added two more to the tally. Sri Lanka was restricted to 124/9 in their 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka was the top scorer with 47 runs, and Dhananjaya de Silva contributed 21 runs.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bangladesh bowlers excluded their work well and restricted Sri Lanka to a subpar score. Chasing the target Bangladesh lost an early wicket as Bangladeshi opener Soumya Sarkar departed for a duck.

On the third ball of the first over, bowled by Dhananjaya de Silva, Soumya Sarkar faced a delivery bowled shorter on the leg side. Sarkar attempted to flick it into the leg side but mistimed his shot, which led to a leading edge. Wanindu Hasaranga, positioned at mid-on, ran back to take a safe catch.

Sarkar was dismissed for a silver duck, putting early pressure on the Bangladesh batting lineup.

In their chase, Bangladesh faced early setbacks. Nuwan Thushara provided Sri Lanka with a crucial breakthrough as he dismissed Tanzid Hasan for 3 runs. Currently, Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy are at the crease, trying to stabilize the innings after the early wickets. Bangladesh is struggling at the time of writing, they are 64/3 in 10 overs.

Bangladesh needs to maintain steady partnerships to reach the target, while Sri Lanka will aim to capitalize on the early breakthroughs to put further pressure on the Bangladesh batting lineup.
