[Watch] Thushara Turns Lasith Malinga As His Deadly Yorker Uproots Tanzid's Off Stump

After putting up an abysmal performance with the bat, Sri Lanka got off to a magnificent start with the ball, dismissing the Bangladesh openers cheaply in the ongoing T20 World Cup encounter between the two teams at Grand Prairie Stadium.

After Dhananjaya de Silva got rid of Soumya Sarkar in the first over, Nuwan Thushara cleaned up Tanzid Hasan with an absolute peach.

The incident occurred during the second over of Bangladesh's innings when they had just lost Soumya Sarkar to De Silva's wily off spin.

Sri Lankan skipper Wanindu Hasaranga's decision to bring Thushara into the attack worked wonders as the seamer castled Tanzid with a terrific yorker.

After conceding two singles off his first three balls, Thushara bowled a full-length in-swinger that jagged back into Tanzid Hasan after pitching around the block hole.

The southpaw was comprehensively beaten by the pace and swing, with the ball uprooting his off stump. His dismissal sent shockwaves in the Bangladesh camp as they had hoped for a smooth run-chase after restricting Sri Lanka to a paltry total.

After Tanzid's departure, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto joined experienced batter Litton Das in the middle. As of writing, Bangladesh were 20 for two in four overs, with Litton and Najmul batting on 8* and 5*, respectively.
