Afghanistan captain, Rashid Khan came triumphant in a captain v captain battle as he scalped the Kiwi big fish, Kane Williamson at 9 (13) on the first ball of his spell. Coming in to bowl the first over after the powerplay in an attempt to defend 160, Rashid foxed Williamson with a leg-break as New Zealand found themselves in a spot of bother.

The incident transpired right after the powerplay where Williamson tried to late cut a full-length leg break from Rashid Khan which was pitched outside the off-stump and found more than usual bounce off the wicket.

Williamson went on the back foot and tried to guide the ball past the slip, however, in the attempt to cut the ball, the 33 year old was only able to find the fielder standing in the slip. Gulbadin Naib didn't miss a rather easier catch that came straight to him.

With the pitch not behaving like a normal T20 wicket, the wicket turned out as a game-turning event, leading to wickets in a cluster.

Eventually, Rashid finished with figures of 4/17 inside 4 overs to win the contest for his side. New Zealand were defeated by 84 runs as Afghanistan win two games in a row.
