Shreyas Iyer has been a consistent performer for India in ODIs, and was one of the main assets for India in the World Cup 2023. He scored 525 runs in that World Cup and would be a crucial player at number 4 for India in the upcoming Champions Trophy as well.

 So, he would be looking to notch up some big scores in this three-match ODI series, and is seen practicing hard on his weakness against short balls. Rohit Sharma too was seen working with Shreyas on his pull shots, and now a video clip is going rounds on social media where Shreyas Iyer is seen pulling a short delivery against a slinga-action left-handed bowler.

It was quite a powerful shot and these are good signs for Shreyas Iyer and India as they build towards the ODI series.

Champions Trophy 2025 Preparation Starts

The first ODI is scheduled to be played on 2nd of August at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and it sees a return of star duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with preparation for Champions Trophy 2025 in mind. This is also the first ODI series under Gautam Gambhir and he would be hoping for a perfect start, just like the T20I series under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav.
