Meg Lanning got off to a flying start in the ongoing The Women's Hundred match between London Spirit and Welsh Fire.

Put into bat, 'Megastar' Meg Lanning was at her imperial best as she took on the Welsh Fire attack. The former Aussie skipper tonked a couple of sixes and looked all set for a big score. However, a Freya Davies pearler knocked her stumps.

On the 42nd delivery, Davies bowled an in-swinger to a well-set Meg Lanning. The London Spirit opener tried to flick it on the leg side, but the ball moved away just a bit to beat the outside-edge and knock the stumps as the opener looked 'shell shocked.'

Davies continued her rampaging bowling and she further dented Spirit's hope by taking the big wicket of England skipper, Heather Knight.

Talking about Lanning, she finished with a score of 31 off 20 deliveries. She struck 5 fours and a solitary six, with a strike-rate of 155.

At the moment, London Spirit are 133/5 inside 89 deliveries. After the early loss of Lanning and Knight, Danielle Gibson steadied the ship and is standing tall against the opposition bowlers.

The team from London have won both their games and will be eager to continue their winning momentum against the Welsh Fire.
