In a remarkable turn of events during their warm-up match in Adelaide against Cricket Australia XI, the West Indies demonstrated resilience, rebounding from a challenging batting phase to assert dominance with an outstanding bowling display on day two. The Windies, facing an Australian XI, showcased spirited bowling prowess, restricting their opponents to a mere 174 runs with an impressive spell of 6-22 at Karen Rolton Oval.

Prepping for an upcoming two-Test series against Australia, the West Indies encountered batting difficulties in the afternoon session, witnessing the dismissal of top-order players Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Kirk McKenzie.

Nevertheless, makeshift opener Josh da Silva (55 not out) and No.5 Kavem Hodge (44 not out) countered the setback, guiding the team to 3-137 at stumps, establishing a commanding lead of 214 runs - after getting a first-innings of 77 runs.

Despite a shaky start where the CA Team reached 1-94, the Windies turned the tide with an impactful 6-22 spell, spearheaded by the uncapped speedster Shamar Joseph.

Joseph's clever swing bowling and accurate short deliveries, including a remarkable in-swinger that dismantled Teague Wyllie's off-stump, solidified his position as a standout performer in the Windies squad, making a strong case for inclusion in the Test side.

Meanwhile, Australia and West Indies will begin the main tour from January 17, with the first Test scheduled at Adelaide, before the caravan moves to Gabba for the 2nd T20. The series will also include three ODIs and as many T20Is.
