The Big Bash league 13 heads to its business end and the contests are getting more intriguing at the time. Match 34 is supposed to spark heap of excitement into the fans not just because it is the Sydney Derby but also because two international stars will be back in the mix. Steve Smith and David Warner will be back for their respective franchises as Sydney Sixers cross swords against the Sydney Thunder in the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney. The game is slated to begin at 1:45 PM IST.

The Sixers are at a far better position than their forthcoming opponent as they are situated in the third position with ten points from eight matches. They have been triumphant in four matches while two of their games ended up as rain abandoned.

On the other hand, the Thunder are positioned seventh in the league table with just a solo win in seven games. They earned another point due to a rain-washed encounter. They have been winless since the last four games and will look to come back strong in this prestigious clash.

SIX vs THU, Match 34- Toss Factor

The Sydney Cricket Ground is a well-balanced ground and one of the venues in Australia that  favour the spinners more than other venues. Batters who are good against spin enjoy the conditions and runs do come in this venue.

Scenario: If Sydney Sixers field first

The Sixers are equally good in chasing and defense. With Steve Smith back in the mix, he makes a sure shot in the fantasy teams irrespective of the toss. Todd Murphy is someone who can be useful in such conditions. Good batters against spin and pace are also well-suited to these conditions.

Scenario: If Sydney Thunder fields first

David Warner looked in good touch against Pakistan in his farewell series and should bring the good form into the t20 format. Apart from him, Chris Green and Daniel Sams are two cricketers that has been consistent with their contribution to the Thunder this season.

SIX vs THU, Match 34- Top Captain and Vice-captain

Scenario: If Sydney Sixers field first

Steve Smith (SIX): 'Smudge' is one of the key batters of the Sixers brand and the world saw how he transformed into a T20 opener after whopping centuries for fun in the last BBL. He will look to replicate his antics from the past once again as he features in the big clash. Also, he is a very good batter against spin and should come good here.

Chris Green (THU): The Thunder skipper has matured as a cricketer and would look to display his all-round prowess. Although he played a few cameos with the bat this edition, Green could earn more fantasy points with the ball as he is likely to get spin-favourable conditions.

Scenario: If Sydney Thunder field first

David Warner (THU): 'The Bull' returns to BBL action this Friday as a heated contest takes centre stage. The southpaw has been in fine touch with the bat and would love to score big in his home ground. Playing here since his early days, Warner is used to the conditions of SCG and would be one of the best bets.

James Vince (SIX): The top-order batter scored a brilliant 79 in their last game that sealed the deal to gain two crucial points. Vince has bagged 195 runs from his last seven innings with an average of 32.5. He is a terrific batter against both spin and pace and has the ability to play measured knocks.

SIX vs THU, Match 34- High Risk, high reward choices

Daniel Sams (THU): The Australian all-rounder is one of the in-form cricketers in the BBL. Having bagged 13 wickets in his last eight innings, Sams has the ability to bowl with the new ball as well as the softer old cork. However, he is inconsistent with the economy and often gets tonked for runs. But he can add the extra cushion with the bat in hand too.

Todd Murphy (SIX): The orthodox off-spinner can turn out to be a uncanny option when it comes to fantasy teams for this contest. He bagged a couple of wickets in his last game and is expected to do even better as SCG is known for spin-friendly tracks.
